Much better haul than last week but still not huge numbers as temperature dropped fairly sharply overnight. 44 moths of 20 species with a few new for the year.
Puss moth is always nice to see and i've never caught one here. I usually get one
Chocolate tip per year and it was a lovely pristine example but too flighty for a photo. Others new were
white ermine, buff ermine, shuttle-shaped dart (another 1 per year species here),
brown silver-line, brimstone and
small phoenix. A handful of micros including diamond-back moth,
Ancylis badiana and
Elachista rufocinerea. As usual, thanks to Paul for helping out with the micros.
Plus another new for the year found near a security light - scalloped hazel.
