Sid, Nice find. Looking at Die Tortriciden (Razowski), it looks good, however the paler form of E. tedella has very similar markings. The example [E. fraternana] given on UK Moths isn't as bright as your photograph, but the markings look okay. The flight time is June/July but given the weather recently many species are flying earlier, and I find microlep flight periods rather ambiguous anyway. It is a fir feeder. Best let DJS have a look.

ReplyDeleteDave, i have kept the spec for him. I have had E. Tedella in the same pine wood before which is why i am calling it a "possible" for now.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing it. Looks interesting!
ReplyDeleteJohn Langmaid has seen the photo and agrees with you Paul. Nice one!
