Hardy Moth

Despite it being only 1.20 C, currently, an Early Moth has just appeared at the kitchen window. That has brightened up my evening, somewhat.

    Amazing they can fly in those temperatures.

    Nice record - there are few records of it down here in Cardiff.

    I only usually see the odd one, most winters, but I had two in a field trapping session, a week ago. According to MapMate, I've only had ten of them since 1999, when I started trapping and eight of those were in the garden.
