Merthyr mawr warren today.

             One Orange underwing, a first for the reserve.

  1. Interesting that you too had this species Paul, as they emerged in Carms on the same day. You did well to get a photo too - normally they`re too high up and very `flighty`. I know of three lucky people who have seen them resting on the ground, but my lowest was one that flew past me, at speed, at about waist height.

  2. This landed quite high up Ian, luckily i have a good zoom camera and managed this single shot before it flew off.
