6/7 May. Gowerton

Minimum overnight was 12.7 with resultant 21 species the best for the year so far in the garden.
What was really nice to see though was the first Emperors hatched, bang on cue for 7th May. I just put them in the garden shed last night and three hatched today, from eggs laid in the trap last year. Managed a couple of reasonable 'mating pair' shots which was what I had been hoping for.

Emperor male unfurling wings, and cocoon.

Emperors mating, male in front.

Emperors mating, female left.
