ID help please


I thought this one would be easy! Been through the Tort thumbnails on UK Moths a couple of times but to avail.

    Possibly Epinotia immundana.

    I think it's Epinotia nisella - saw one a couple of days ago.

    I think you're right George. According to Hants Moths immundana has a wing span of 12-15mm and nisella 12-17mm. My moth was 16mm. There's also an image of nisella with a similar orange dorsal blotch. Variable little blighters ain't they!
