I got home from work this evening to find no less than 7 butterfly species in the garden - which is pretty exceptional for our smallish suburban garden. I don't think I've ever seen so many in one day before. Just for the record, they were Meadow Brown (less than annual here), Gatekeeper, Speckled Wood, Large & Small White, Holly Blue and Peacock. Also a female Common Darter.
Nice one George. I'm not seeing so many butterflies in the garden this year - regularly seeing Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown and Large White but others are conspicuous by their absence.
