Broughton night of 31May17

Two nights ago 37 moths of 22 species were caught in our 8W Actinic trap at Broughton on Gower. The highlight was the Nationally Scarce B - White Colon, a new moth for us, Broom Moth, Beautiful Brocade and Small Fan-foot - all four species were new for the site for us taking our list to 195 (138 macro / 57 micro) from 22 trappings over 3 years. New for the year were Anania fuscalis, Fox Moth, Common Carpet, Small Square-spot, Small Angle Shades and The Flame. Also of note was a Mottled Beauty (conversaria) Later day flying at Llangennith Moors were Yellow Shell, Rush Veneer and Cinnabar.
