NMN in Cwm Ivy & Gorseinon
Yesterday Veronica Shenston showed me this Cream-bordered Green Pea, which she had caught overnight in her garden in Cwm Ivy, Gower. Unless anyone tells me otherwise, this is a new species for Glamorgan, although there are two unverified historical records.
Here in Gorseinon, on the same night, there was nothing anywhere as exciting. The best of a mediocre batch of 63 species were Epinotia bilunana, Currant Pug, Freyer's Pug, Cypress Carpet, Dog's-tooth, Small Clouded Brindle and Dark Spectacle.

Excellent - presumably an arrival from the recently-established Carmarthenshire coast population. Or maybe it is breeding on Gower too?
ReplyDeleteIf Veronica catches any more the latter scenario would seem likely 🤞
