Nantyffyllon actinic last night.

Opostega salaciella
Blastodacna hellerella.
No migrants for me! An average 43 species, with low numbers of everything except for 6 Dark arches. The above micros were the pick, along with a Small dotted buff.

Gorseinon

61 species recorded in the garden trap this morning with migrants represented by singles of Rusty-dot Pearl, Small Mottled Willow and Ni Moth, the latter a new species for the garden. Dark Arches has taken over as the most abundant species with about 80 noted, followed by 25 Garden Grass Veneers, 20 Heart & Darts and 14 Elephant Hawk-moths and Uncertains.
Not the freshest specimen in the box, but undeniably Ni

Merthyr mawr warren today.

Orange tailed clearwing, 3 came to VES lure at 1PM.
Elachista triatomea?
Also plenty of Pyrausta purpuralis, one Pyrausta cingulata, Yellow shell, Silver Y, Small yellow wave, Spindle ermine, Bramble shoot moth, Phycitodes binavella, Epiblema roborana and Acleris aspersana.

Rhoose Point

Here's the final pic from the weekend's trapping session. Given the relatively large size (wingspan approx 18mm), and the greeny bronze colour I think it's Coleophora trifolii, but I am happy to be corrected!

Nitten Field, Mewslade

Nothing as exciting as Adam's catch the other night but a few migrants were in the traps this morning with ~50 Diamond-back Moths, 7 Rusty-dot Pearls, 3 Dark Sword-grass, 3 Small Mottled Willows and a lone Silver Y. Resident species of note included Monochroa cytisella, Eucosma obumbratana, July Belle, Plain Pug, Brussels Lace, 8 Crescent Dart, Northern Rustic, Marbled Coronet, L-album Wainscot, and a Crescent Striped. (Hope to post a few pics later if time permits).
Eucosma obumbratana 5th VCR
Udea ferrugalis 914th VCR!
Lackey - I've never seen one like this before

Northern Rustic 'a la carton' as they always seem to start vibrating as soon as disturbed
Crescent Striped seem to lose their scales by default, but they are quite distinctive nonetheless retaining their characteristic features. The two small white dots a little way behind the thorax are always a good starting point I find., plus it's bigger than the similar brocades. 5th VCR

Senghenydd

30 species in total last night: Highlights - 6th garden record of Broom-tip...at last I have finally managed to get a decent 'out of the pot shot' of this skittish species! Also Scallop Shell and Pinion-streaked Snout.

Just one micro in the trap, which I think is Aethes cnicana?

TIA to anyone who responds as I've not been able to add any comments on the blog for the last couple of weeks.

Nantyffyllon today.

Grapholita compositella
Celypha striana.
