Bridgend 17th July

A lovely warm night produced a catch of 103 moths of 48 species. The highlight for us was a new one for the garden Swammerdamia pyrella. Also new for the year were Apple Ermine (agg), Bactra lancealana and Ancylis badiana (last recorded 2013), Mompha propinquella, Barred Fruit-tree Tortrix, Phoenix, July Highflyer, August Thorn, Poplar Hawkmoth, Dingy Footman, Garden Tiger, Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, Knot-grass, Dotted Clay (2013) and Marbled Green.

This takes the garden year list to a very good 151 (97 macro / 54 micro). The garden list now stands at 417 (272/145).

  1. Mike/Emma, the bottom one is a Dotted Clay, not Twin-spot Quaker.

  2. Ah thanks Dave, that's my mistake as I think Emma identified it ok on the night. I just wrote it down wrongly!
