Llandaff - Garden - 1st and 2nd July

A rather breezy weekend with lowish temps around 10 C and 11 C. Some misty rain in early hours for both days.

A poor amount of moths due to weather, Although, some interesting species and more new to garden.

The 6th Green Arches of the year, another Sycamore 3rd for year and another lovley Ptycholomoides aeriferana.

New to garden were, True Lovers Knot, Grey Arches and a tiny micro which I assume is Bohemannia quadrimaculella?.

There was also a rather worn and very small Silver Y, with a very separated Y.

I also had two mines from Greater Willowherb Hatch this evening, they look very much like Mompha langiella. I had another a earlier in the year.

  1. The bottom one is actually a Beautiful golden Y

  2. Tricky to judge the size of the Nepticulid, but B. quadrimaculella does look like that and is big for a Nep, so I think you are correct.

  3. Hi Dave, I was thinking the 'Y' was a bit browner, just it was ever so small. Good job I upped a photo as another new for garden. Cheers.
