Hark the Herald...

A Herald was on a shop window in Swansea city centre today, also a Mottled Umber below an outside light nearby.

Both in tip top condition - nice to see a couple of colourful moths in the depths of December.

  1. Nice!
At the moment, something drab and grey would do for me. There have been a couple of half decent nights this week, but I've been far too ill to do anything about it :¬(

  2. Same thing here Mark. Trapping has been very limited for me for the past few months due to recurring health problems - old age and all that! :-( I even had to pull out of the GMS on week 23 because I started missing nights through illness. I should be ok for trapping in the garden next year - on most nights anyway, not so sure about getting back out in the field though, I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    1. Sorry to hear it, Tony. Let's hope your ongoing health problems don't interfere too much with your mothing year. As for me, it was just a virulent bug, very similar to proper influenza that all but knocked me out for four or five days (takes a lot to do that to me) but on the mend now, thanks.

  3. Thanks Mark. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Mothing (along with other things) is firmly on the back burner for the time being - my garden's usually rubbish outside the main season anyway so don't think I'm missing much. If things go according to plan treatment wise, I should be back to regular trapping by next spring - hope so anyway.
