Rhoose Point - migrants from last night

A good night for migrants at Rhoose Point last night. Dave, would be grateful if you could check the pics below to confirm that they are indeed Small Marbled and Small Mottled Willow. Two Small Marbled arrived, along with a single SMW, 2 Silver Y and another Ni, which may well be the same one from earlier in the week I guess.

If we get any more migrants I'll have to pen a strongly worded letter to the Daily Mail....!

Graig yr hyvan, Senghenydd

Considering last night was again on the cold side, my 3rd visit to this site produced a very respectable catch of 34 spp: Highlight was my first Striped Wainscot (2) - new for ST19 I believe. Others included Drinker (2), Satin Wave, Poplar Grey, Lychnis, True Lover's Knot (2), Double Line (3), Grey Arches (3), Light Arches and Beautiful Golden Y.

Nantyffyllon today.

Lanthronympha strigana.
Also 2 Ringlet butterflies new for SS8592 and a Latticed heath.

Migrants?

I'm pleased to see that some migrants are being seen in the county. I had a single Silver Y last night toadd to my Diamond-back yesterday. Did get a few new for the year though, including Swallow-tailed and Smoky Wainscot, but nothing to really get excited about. My brother on the other had, in Burnham-on-Sea (almost due south from Cardiff) had Small Marbled.
