Crazy diamonds

148 Plutella xylostella in the Llandaff North garden trap last night. I'm sure someone else can beat that!

Nothing much else of note except 2nd garden record of Argyresthia spinosella.

Better pic

Here's an improved shot of the probable Pammene germmana. In the early morning cool with a drop of sugar solution for his breakfast.

Prior's Meadow. Friday 3rd.

This Wildlife Trust reserve is a new site for me, and this was my first foray. 65 species on a calm night on this wood and meadow site, with this probable Pammene germmana best record.  3rd for Glamorgan, first since 1991. I'll try for a better photo and keep it for checking.
Pammene germmana  I hope!

Endothenia nigricostana query

Noticed this little beastie on the garden fence at lunchtime today. The best match I can find is Endothenia nigricostana - but that appears to be not too common in these parts so I'm probably hopelessly wrong! Assistance with ID would be greatly appreciated. (the background grid is 2mm)

Merthyr mawr yesterday.

    Mother shipton
    Small argent and sable
   Pyrausta cingulata.
Met Steve Whitehouse at midday for a search for P. ostrinalis and saw two
worn individuals. We also recorded Adela fibulella and croesella there,
along with Yellow belle and 7 Diamond back moths.

Abercregan last night.

          Beautiful snout
         Seraphim
         Melanic Larch pug?
          Pug sp?
41 species, inc Chocolate tip, Small elephant hawk, Scorched wing
and 4 Diamond backs. Would welcome confirmation on the pugs please.
