16 species in the trap this am, including Green Carpet, Peppered Moth, Middle-barred Minor, Setaceous Hebrew Character, Garden Pebble and Bee Moth. Non GMS species included Coleophora albicosta (new for me) and 2nd county record (I think?) of Argyresthia trifasciata.
Hi Tony,
ReplyDeleteAccorinding to my version of the county database there are 19 county records of trifasciata, including one I had in Llandaff North on 27th May.
But yours would be the first outside Cardiff so still a good record.
George
Thanks for that George, looks like I missed 1 or 2 records there! :-0 Do you know if there's a way for me to access the county database other than Mapmate(?), which I've considered buying, but have serious doubts that it's user friendly enough for my very limited PC tech skills.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, don't know...Dave?
ReplyDeleteAt some point there will be a book with everything up to the end of 2009 in it. Waiting for Atropos at the moment to progress it. It is my long term aim to have the book webified at some point (after it's been published) so that more up-to-date county statuses can be easily accessible to all. I've not progressed it yet as we need to sell as many copies of the book as possible before all the data becomes freely available!
ReplyDeleteThanks both.
ReplyDeleteTony. Give MapMate a try. True, it's not the easiest or most intuitive programme to use, but if I can use it a concussed earthworm could and if things go pear shaped, as inevitably, they sometimes do, Dave is really excellent at getting one out of all sorts of pickles.
ReplyDeleteOk Mark, I'll give it a go. May the Force be with me!....
