Rhoose

22 species last night and things are picking up nicely here.  Yellow Belle, Waved Umber, Eudonia pallida, Poplar Hawk and Spectacle amongst the catch, but pride of place goes to the first of this years Cream-spot Tigers;

  1. Well that's a lot better than the catch i had in Barry last night Adam - I'm jealous! I had 5 species....

  3. Nice photo of a lovely species. I have only ever seen Cream-spot Tiger once, at a GMRG field meeting, over ten years ago, at Bull Cliff.

  4. Thanks Mark! I put the moth in the shade (full sun never helps macro photos in my experience) but wasn't sure how the light coming through the leaf would affect it. It seems to have turned out OK! According to the lovely new moth book it is only found between Barry and Aberthaw. I guess there is a possibility it may go a bit further west than that.

  5. I think it was at that GMRG meet that Barry was added to Cream-spot Tiger's VC41 range.
    That backlit Acer leaf makes for an unusual and effective background.
