Today's beautiful sunshine encouraged me to take a look around Kilvey Hill hoping to see Orange Underwing. I saw three, two of which I managed to catch and photograph, as well as a surprise Yellow Horned flying past at knee level.

Perhaps it's so cold at night some of our nocturnal species have resorted to flying by day! Not looked but is Yellow Horned known to fl during the day?
ReplyDeleteOccasionally on sunny afternoons, apparently.
DeleteJust had one in Carmarthenshire too! See Carmarthenshire Moth blog site for details. Fantastic orange underwing photo Chris...they are so flighty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ian. What is the link for the Carmarthen blog?
DeleteI've added the Carmarthenshire Moths Blog to the links section
