Gowerton Thursday 4th June

Really pleased, whilst doing an ancient woodland survey, to find these larval workings of Nemapogon clematella on the classic dead hazel branches. First I've seen in Wales after much searching.

  1. Fascinating Chris. I`ll have to look out for it - something that mycologists/bryologists can look out for too.

  2. Thanks Ian. Yes, the small round black fungi on dead hazel are distinctive, the workings were on stems around 3-4 cms thick.
