Oxwich Marsh (BS, Chris Manley & Veronica Shenston)

Four traps at Oxwich Marsh last night produced a somewhat disappointing return of 200 moths of 92 species. Those of interest included Brachmia blandella 1, Cyclamen Tortrix 5, Opsibotys fuscalis 7, Oblique Carpet 3, Privet Hawk-moth 2, Eyed Hawk-moth 3, Small Elephant Hawk-moth 8, Puss Moth 1, Round-winged Muslin, Marbled Brown 1, Pale-shouldered Brocade 3, Striped Wainscot 7, Shoulder-striped Wainscot 2, Shark 1, Bordered Sallow 2, Bordered Straw 1, Pinion-streaked Snout 2 and a rather handsome Wasp Beetle 1. Another Bordered Straw was a seen nectaring on Red Valerian at Lunnon the previous evening. Finally a Hummingbird Hawk was seen in Llangyfelach on the 14th by Steve & Rosie Haste.
