Must be a Gower thing... I get this (robins, blackbirds & magpies) when I trap at my parents, but never at home in Bucks! At the GMS conference last year, there was a speaker (can't remember who) who suggested using a chicken wire cage around a trap; the moths can get through but not the birds.
Unfortunately, I`ve got one too - probably your assistant`s first cousin and very cheekily persistent even though I `shoo` it away!
