I took this large and well marked Caloptilia in my garden on the night of 22nd - I can't make it anything other than falconipennella. It's a very good match to Patrick Clement's photo on UKmoths. Any opinions? And would this be a new species for VC41?

I can't see any reason why not. Certainly a very good record, and yes a VC first - the first reported on the new blog!
ReplyDeleteGreat - my first VC first for 4 years. I'll try and remember to look for mines on alder down by the Taff later in the year.
ReplyDeleteNice one George, hopefully the first of a good haul this year.
