A few moths arrived last night before the wind picked up down here. Among them was the pic below that I have tentatively id'd as a pale (and worn!) form of Oak Nycteoline. Can anyone confirm? Thanks, Adam
Hi Adam, you're getting some really nice records but suggest that you find a less reflective bit of wood for your photos ;o) Looking forward to more of your Rhoose goodies - you're obviously in a good spot down at there.
My tip would be to experiment with different logs, rocks, leaves, etc., although you should aim to please yourself rather than anyone else. However, later on in the year when the moths are a bit more lively, the skill isn't so much finding a good background, it's getting the moth to sit where you'd like it to!
Yes Adam, that's Oak Nycteoline.

Thanks both. Tips for better shots gratefully received because as you have spotted it isn't really my forte!

ReplyDeleteMany thanks Barry. I will see what I can find once the rain stops!
