Just 7 species last night, including Treble Bar, Purple Bar, Elachista argentella, Eudonia angustea and the rather nondescript moth below. At first I thought it might be a Case-bearing Clothes Moth, but the curved pointy things (labial palps???) suggest probably not. I think it may be one of the Anomologinae, but I'm not sure. Can anyone help with this one?
Neofaculta ericetella?
ReplyDeleteDave, I doubt it is N ericetella on the basis that the specimen has no markings whatsoever (which I suppose should be an identifying feature in itself!) even when viewed through a hand lens.
ReplyDeleteI'm now wondering if it might be a Scrobipalpa?
I think it's probably a Gelechiid, but wouldn't like to say beyond that without dissecting it.
ReplyDeleteOK. Thanks for taking a look!
