Creigiau - recent moths

Had a few good boxes recently with 30 and 40 species being seen, but, as usual, micros have been a problem. These three I am pretty sure are Ancylis badiana, Cydia pomonella and Dioryctria abietaella.

But the others I'm not sure about and would be grateful for some assistance. Images are in pairs

  1. Eupoecilia angustana, Bactra (lancealana), and something that requires a little more thought!

  2. Yes, pretty sure the other one is Epinotia fraternana. Second county record - well done!

  3. Thanks Dave. Got to be pleased with that, though annoyed I didn't find it myself in Sterling & Parsons. The marking is quite distinctive and I scoured, or thought I did, that and British Moths with no success. Looked again this morning, and strangely it doesn't appear in British Moths ...

  5. Congratulations Howard. Yes, quite right of course, it's not in British Moths but it will be in the next reprint.
