Stathmopoda pedella. A very nice surprise whilst tapping
for micros today. Not on the Glamorgan list and i have only
seen this species before in South England.
The Alder Signal [Nationally Scarce B]. Well done Sid. I should imagine being in central VC41, it's probably both east & west of Parc Slip too. Better get tapping!!
I had it 3 times at Dingestow between 1999 and 2005, but I bashed A LOT of Alder to get those 3. There seemed to be no logic as to when one would appear in the net, and it was always a very exciting species to see. There's also a 2013 record, supported by a photo, by Nick Felsted at Chepstow.
Nice one Paul.
ReplyDeleteExcellent news Paul. I've tried beating Alders in the Ely Valley for this species, but without success.
ReplyDeleteWell done Paul!

ReplyDeleteSadly not new to Wales as there is a VC35 record - Sam has had it at Dingestow. Nevertheless, a great record!
ReplyDeleteWell done Paul - beautiful little moth
