Roath

Not much this month in the way of migrant moths, one Silver Y so far. A couple of milestones however, on the 29th May I took the 100th site record for Small Dusty Wave at Whitchurch Hospital and on 2nd July I took the 200th site record for my garden. Strange to think that some observers in VC41 haven't even seen this species, which is restricted to the eastern half of Glamorgan and Cardiff in particular.
Below is a photo of my trap with my way of trying to stop my egg boxes getting soaked by rain - bamboo canes. It's not brilliant but it does keep them much dryer than when the boxes were just resting on the bottom of the trap.
