Ty'n-y-coed Forestry, Saturday night

I cancelled my planned trapping in the Brecon Beacons on Saturday due to a poor mountain weather forecast, and instead left my two 6W Heath traps overnight at Ty'n-y-coed, Pentyrch, in the under-recorded square ST08. It all worked out well as the drizzle had stopped by morning, mkaing emptying the traps a lot more pleasant, and they were pretty well stuffed with moths.
A good haul
65 species were recorded in total, of which 7 were new for ST08 (according to my copy of MapMate): Satin Beauty, Pretty Chalk Carpet, Blomer's Rivulet, Depressaria daucella, Rhopobota naevana (Holly Tortrix), Pammene aurita and Evergestis pallidata. Also of note was Clouded Magpie, which is the first record for ST08 since the days of Evan John.

Pammene aurita
Ypsolopha parenthesella - common but always nice to see
