a couple more

See what you've started Barry? I've added in a couple more gardens, namely George (Llandaff North), Veronica (Cwm Ivy), Mark (Cwmbach) and Roger & Vicky Smith (Penylan Rothamsted Trap). The wacky jump in the Rothamsted trap was in 1989 & 1990 when they sent their micros to Ted Hancock, adding 200 species in just two years! Anyway, I should do some work now!

  1. Nice graph Dave!

My 'curve' is still very steep (if you ignore the current year, as I haven't sent data in yet). This is partly because I started with two rubbish moth years (2007 and 2008) and also I started dissecting small micros in 2010 and 2011 which has boosted the numbers. But things are levelling off this year...

  2. Thanks for including my garden, Dave: I'd have never got around to the analysis myself. I was really scaling a mountain in those first few years!

  3. Bearing in mind Veronica doesn't really do micro's her site looks pretty good. It would be interesting to run the analysis using macro data only - but I'm not suggesting you do!
