Broughton, Gower 11Jul15

A nice day, better in the morning and more relaxing looking for daytime species with my eagle-eyed ten year old daughter. The best moth of the day was undoubtedly the Hummingbird Hawkmoth Holly found at Twlc Point, obviously migrants around as we also saw Rush Veneer and 2 Painted Lady butterflies. Also noted was Pyrausta despicata and a rather unfortunate Large Yellow Underwing being fed to a fledged Stonechat by its mother!

There were also plenty of butterflies around today between Llangennith Moors, Burry holms and Broughton Burrows including several Ringlet, Grayling, Meadow Brown and Large White, plus probably a couple of dozen Small Skipper and single Red Admiral and Small Heath.
