Apotomis sauciana? Can anyone confirm?
Martyn and I carried an MV and an Actinic up to this rocky
escarpment, which is covered with heather, Bilberry etc in a
mainly coniferous habitat. The main target was Scarce silver Y,
of which 2 were caught. In total we recorded 401 moths of 77
species on a night where the temp was still 22 degrees when we
packed up at 2:40AM. We got double figure counts of Beautiful snout,
Red necked footman, Northern spinach and Common heath.
A bonus was close views of a pair of Nightjar.
Great effort and results chaps - sauciana looks right to me
