As ever the cliffs did not disappoint. Highlights from around 120 species were 6 Scarce Burnished Brass, 8 Devonshire Wainscot, Shark, White Colon, Crescent Dart, Pretty Chalk Carpet, Beautiful Brocade, Marbled Coronet, Grey Arches,
Lozotaeniodes formosana, Batia lambdella, Eucosma tripoliana and one micro query which I would very much appreciate any suggestions for.

Chris - I think that's Ypsolopha ustella, I had one of that form last night too.
ReplyDeleteNice photos...nice species...apart from ustella none of those overlap with my catch at Lavernock last night, despite both sites being coastal locations.

Is it not just a sandy coloured Diamond-backed?
ReplyDeleteHmmm hadn't thought of that one! Mine was denifitely ustella, far too big for Diamond-back.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for these. I should have guessed at ustella. I'd forgotten how varied they are.
