A wonderful three and a half hour session at Lavernock last night produced a total of 125 species (1x MV light & sheet, 1x 15W actinic trap).
Highlights among the macros included 4 species new for ST16 (I think): Brussels Lace (2), Scarlet Tiger, Round-winged Muslin and Dark Umber. Also Blackneck (6), Beautiful Hook-tip (5), Brown Scallop (8), Lunar-spotted Pinion (escaped a photo annoyingly), Fern and Magpie moth.

The best of the micros was Epinotia signatana (2nd county record?). Others included Mompha ochraceella, Hedya salicella, Grapholita janthinana, Neosphaleroptera nubilana and Coleophora mayrella.

Any thoughts on this white-headed tortrix?

Looks rather tripoliana-like to me?
ReplyDelete...worth checking for aemula...
ReplyDeleteThanks Barry, aemula might be more likely as I don't think there's any Sea Aster around there.
